The park’s 400 square kilometres of dry, deciduous forest is studded with pretty lakes and the crumbling remains of temples, burial tombs and old hunting pavilions. At its heart lies the 10th century Ranthambore Fort, the park’s namesake and a protected World Heritage Site. Today you can walk amongst the old stone courtyards, Hindu temples and hallways of what was once one of the grandest forts in the country.
